Joy Reid Gets Roasted After MSNBC Cancels Her Show
As we head into the 2024 election, the divide couldn’t be starker. One side claims to stand for freedom, while critics argue the other fits the textbook definition of fascism—mirroring the far-right, authoritarian regimes of Hitler’s Germany, Franco’s Spain, or Mussolini’s Italy.
But beyond the ideological battle, there’s another undeniable fact: Both major candidates are elderly.
Donald Trump, an older man himself, recently survived an assassination attempt. Despite the chaos of that day, he bounced back quickly, heading straight to his convention. The media has framed this as a testament to his resilience and strength.
Meanwhile, President Joe Biden, at 81 years old, has tested positive for COVID. If he recovers in a few days and returns to the campaign trail, shouldn’t that also be seen as a sign of strength? It’s not the same as surviving an assassination attempt, but in its own way, it’s proof of endurance. Yet, the media coverage seems to paint these two incidents in completely different lights.
When it comes to media coverage, few networks lean harder into alarmism than MSNBC. Watching them is like tuning into a never-ending cycle of hysteria.
Take Joy Reid, for example. She recently described the current political landscape as a “full-on crisis in our democracy” and even threw around the word “coup” without fully understanding its meaning.
And then there’s the network’s take on election security. For years, they have dismissed concerns about election integrity as dangerous conspiracy theories. But suddenly, some of their own commentators are questioning whether voting machines can be hacked. If election skepticism is an existential threat to democracy, why does it seem acceptable when it comes from their side?
It’s not just the media personalities—many of their viewers are in a full-blown panic.
One woman shared how she took the day off just to “protect her peace” after the latest political developments. Another protester called for an end to “abuse of power”—but when asked if Biden being effectively handed the Democratic nomination was also an abuse of power, she suddenly had no comment.
The 2024 election is shaping up to be one of the most chaotic in modern history. But amid all the noise, one thing remains clear: The media narratives, the selective outrage, and the manufactured hysteria all serve one purpose—to shape public perception, not to tell the full story.
Will voters see through the spin? Or will they be swept up in the cycle of fear? That answer remains to be seen.
