“Dan Bongino Warns Lawmakers of Trump Assassination Threat”

Security Expert Calls Trump Assassination Attempt an “Apocalyptic Failure”

Former Secret Service Agent Demands Overhaul After Deadly Attack

Washington, D.C. – In a scathing assessment of the Secret Service’s handling of the Trump assassination attempt, former agent Dan Banino did not hold back. Speaking at a security panel, Banino called the incident an “apocalyptic security failure”, condemning both outdated protocols and poor resource management within the agency.

“A man was murdered in front of his family. Three people were shot on live television, including President Trump, and the head of the Secret Service came within two millimeters of having his head explode on national TV. There’s no sugarcoating this—it was a disaster.”

Banino expressed frustration that while the JFK assassination remains a national discussion decades later, media coverage of Trump’s shooting is already fading, despite the lack of clear answers on how such a massive security breakdown occurred.

Three Key Failures Within the Secret Service

With 12 years of experience in the Secret Service, Banino outlined three major institutional failures that led to the deadly lapse in protection:

1. Outdated Technology

Banino criticized the agency’s reliance on old and ineffective technology, joking that the Secret Service operates on “yesterday’s technology tomorrow.”

“They only started using slings—a technology as old as the wheel—years into my time there. Weaponry is outdated, security protocols are sluggish, and basic surveillance tech is missing. A drone that costs $39.99 on Amazon could have provided crucial coverage at the rally. Why wasn’t it there?”

2. A “More with Less” Illusion

The Secret Service’s claim that it does “more with less” is a dangerous myth, Banino argued.

“No, they do less with more. Their budget keeps going up, but their effectiveness keeps going down. A 20-year-old criminal outsmarted them using a $40 drone. That’s not ‘more with less’—that’s failure.”

3. A Misguided Investigative Mission

Banino also called for the Secret Service to abandon its investigative duties—such as counterfeit investigations—and focus exclusively on protecting high-profile officials.

“Why are Secret Service agents wasting time busting people for fake $20 bills at 7/11 while the President is getting shot in the head? We have the FBI, DEA, IRS, and countless other agencies for that. The Secret Service should do what it was meant to do—protection, period.”

A Call for Immediate Change

Banino urged lawmakers to reallocate resources, modernize technology, and refocus the Secret Service’s mission before another catastrophic failure occurs.

His blunt warning left attendees—including security officials and lawmakers—visibly shaken. The question now is: Will Washington act before it’s too late?
